Fix Credit Score

There are many reasons for many people to not have no available credit history and a low credit score. Maybe you and your spouse are just starting out in the world, or maybe you both pay cash for everything and have never needed a loan before. In any case, if you have no available credit history, your credit score is likely to be really low, but there are low cost ways to fix credit score.

There is no reason to be worried about this small temporary roadblock, because the easiest way to fix credit score is to get hold of a loan, and pay it off fast and on time. In general, installment loans are weighted more heavily than credit cards are. I do not know why, but that is the way it is. In other words, you will improve your credit score faster if you buy goods with an installment loan, rather than acquiring a credit card.

Another way to get a better credit history is to take $1000 and open a 6 month CD account at a bank or credit union. It is really up to you which one you choose. Now, get an installment loan for $1000, using that CD as collateral. Now, here is the magic. Take the $1000 loan, and open another 6 month CD account at another financial institution. Take another loan for the $1000 at the second institution. Now, you have to do this one more time.

Now what you have is 3 loans at 3 different banks or credit unions. Pay the minimum payment for 6 months. In the last month, go to each financial institution and cash out your CDs and pay the loans off. You now have a valid good credit history that will reflect in your credit score, and you did not have to go into long term debt to get it.

This is what I call an easy and sure way to fix credit score if your score is really low due to the fact you and your spouse do not have a credit history.

Legal Free Credit Repair

Acknowledging that you do have bad credit is the first step towards restoring it. You have already taken that first necessary step toward fixing your credit problem or you wouldn’t be reading this.

Here are a few steps toward legal free credit repair.

To begin with, there are some essential tools of the trade that you will need before you can start fixing your credit report. First start by evaluating where you are at this point in time. Itemize where you stand in regards to assets and deficits. List every debt you have. Determine your current credit rating. You can do that by getting a hold of your credit report through a credit reporting bureau.

When you receive the credit report, check it for accuracy. If any errors are found they should be corrected. To start this process you will need to contact the credit bureau, being very clear about the errors made. Make a copy of the report and send this with the errors circled or highlighted. Send any supporting certification you may have. Be sure to keep plenty of copies of everything and you will certainly want to document each step that you take fixing your credit.

The credit bureau will review your request and the information before making a decision about making changes to your report. If changes are made they will send you a new credit report reflecting those new changes.

Now that you know where you stand with your credit, you also know which debts are going to be the most trouble to deal with. Work with those creditors to find a workable solution. Try to find suitable terms for paying off those debts. Anytime that a payment is going to be late it is best to contact the creditor before the overdue date. This can prevent harmful negative additions to your credit report.

If possible get a new credit card and start using it for purchases that you can pay off rather quickly. This will help to re-establish your credit quickly. Perhaps you could consider buying a stereo, TV or appliance on payments and pay it off early. Such practices build good credit in the shortest time possible.

The next step is probably the most important but also the most difficult. It is important to have a spending, money management plan. The key here, you not only need a plan, but you also need to put it to use.

One suggestion is to decide how much money you need monthly for bills, how much for groceries, how much for gasoline, etc., etc. Then divide your money into those amounts by placing it into jars or envelopes marked appropriately. When the money from each container is gone…no more spending can be done for that time period on that specific item.

Many people find that the aid of a legal free credit repair and debt relief service is very helpful when attempting to repair their credit rating. Many of the programs will work with the individual to pay off their bills at a substantial savings and save their credit rating at the same time. Services such as this can take much of the work out of repairing a credit rating for the consumer and relieve them from the stress and anxiety they would face if they just fixed it themselves.

Cheap Credit Repair

Cheap credit repair advertisements are every where, claiming to guarantee a quick fix on your credit report for a small fee of coarse. They make promises for a fee to clean up your credit history so that you can qualify for a new home, car, insurance, a job, or premium credit cards. Before you sign up with one of these companies, you need to know some real facts.

Here are the real facts about how to fix your credit score. The real truth of the matter is this. No one can legally remove information on a credit report. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) allows you, the consumer, to request a probe of the information in your credit file that you can dispute as inaccurate or incomplete. However there is no charge to you. There are also other steps that you can do yourself, without paying a cheap credit repair company, such as:

  • You are permitted a free credit report if a company denies you credit, insurance, or employment (if credit is a part of the employment). You must request a report within 60 days of this denial. The notice will give you the name of the consumer reporting agency that provided this credit report. You can challenge the information that this denial is based upon. Under FCRA, both the consumer reporting agency and the information provider are responsible for correcting inaccurate or any incomplete information in that report.

  • You can also put in writing what information you believe to be inaccurate. Include copies of any certification that supports your claim. Be sure to send this letter to the credit reporting agency, and send it certified mail. This way, you can prove it was mailed and signed for at their end.

  • You will get a response within 30 to 45 days. During their probe, they must forward all your documents to the merchant or vendor that provided the awful credit information and report back to the credit bureau. If they find that this information is incorrect, they must notify all three reporting agencies of their findings. This includes Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

  • When the probe is concluded by the credit bureau, you must receive a copy of the results in writing and a copy of the dispute if it is changed. If the disputed item is changed, the credit reporting agency cannot put the disputed information back into your credit file unless it is verified as accurate by the merchant or vendor.

  • The credit reporting agency must also send notices of a correction to anyone who received your credit report in the past six months. You can also have a corrected copy sent to employers that did not hire you based on your bad credit report.

Even though cheap credit repair advertisements are every where, claiming to guarantee a quick fix on your credit report for a small fee, you really do not need their services. Because what they can do for you for a small fee, you can do for yourself for FREE. Now that is cheap credit repair.
