How To Repair Credit With Secured Credit Cards
So what exactly are secured credit cards and how can they help repair credit?
Secured Credit Cards are different from debit cards and prepaid cards in one area, they build credit by reporting to the credit bureaus. The only reason to use this card is to help your child build credit. This is because they require you to pay your credit limit up front, and then they charge you interest to use it. No really, think about it, you give the bank $500, and when you need to "borrow" some of your money, they charge you interest. Kind of sounds silly when you say it out loud, doesn’t it?

How To Repair Bad Credit History
Once you have a bad credit history it can be a real nightmare. With a really bad credit history you are pretty much financially disabled from everything except transactions that can be covered with cash.
As a matter of fact, the credit bureaus have all your personal details such as your name, address and previous addresses, as well as credit card information. If you have a mortgage they will know about it. If you have any loans, credit cards or department store cards they know about them and they know what payments you make also. If you rent your home the odds are they know. In fact they usually know the details of virtually all financial arrangements where there is any risk of a debt arising.
How do they know?
All the banks and financial institutions routinely tell them about you. The reason they tell them is that it is in their interest to do so.
How can you break out of this credit catch-22 and repair bad credit?
You have a couple of options you can pursue that will help you repair bad credit.
Option number one- Seek the help of a credit counseling service.
Option number two- Set up a budget to repay past due bills or forgotten accounts.
Option number three- Negotiate with your creditors to pay reduced payments on your accounts.
If you follow these three options that have been presented to you, you will be well on your way to repair bad credit and improve credit score.

Beacon Credit Repair-3 Myths To Avoid
Here are 3 beacon credit repair myths to avoid like the plague.
Checking your credit report will hurt your credit score
How many times have you heard that one. The truth is that checking your own credit report and credit score counts as a soft inquiry and does not go against your score. However, if a lender or creditor is checking your credit report, this is considered a hard inquiry by the credit bureaus and will generally lower your credit score.
Closing old accounts will improve your credit report score
Here is another one. Sometimes even lenders will tell you to close your old, inactive accounts as a way to improve credit score. In most cases, closing old accounts will actually have the opposite effect with the current FICO credit rating system.
Canceling old credit accounts can actually lower your credit score because it makes your credit history appear shorter. If you want to reduce your levels of available credit, it's better to reduce or close new accounts instead. Applying for new credit, also is more likely to lower your credit score.
You need to check more than just FICO credit score rating
If you ever hear this from anyone, highly consider it a red flag. All of the three major credit bureaus offer FICO credit score ratings using the formula developed by Fair Isaac. Even though each one gives the scores a different name you only need a FICO credit score rating from the big three credit bureaus.
In conclusion, beacon credit repair myths can cost you good credit no matter who you get it from, but by avoiding these three beacon credit repair myths, you can repair bad credit or keep your current good credit from going to bad credit.

Can Bad Credit Be Deleted From Your Credit Report
To answer this question. Absolutely. Bad credit items are deleted by the thousands each and every day. Any type of negative item can be removed from a credit report, including bankruptcies, foreclosures, repossessions, charge offs, judgments, tax liens, collections, late payments, personal information and more. The credit bureaus do not want you to know that bad credit can be deleted and they will not make the dispute process easy for you.
Credit bureaus make millions of dollars selling consumers’ private information to lenders or anyone willing to pay for it, for that matter, but when it comes to helping the consumer, the credit bureaus will do everything in their power to make it difficult for you. Why? Because out of all of the things they profit from, the dispute process is not one of them.
Repairing bad credit is not easy, but credit repair is something that can be learned by any consumer who is willing to put in the time and effort. There are also affordable credit repair firms that will repair your bad credit for you. It’s better to hire a professional to repair your bad credit than it is to try it on your own if you don’t know what you’re doing. However, you should not be intimidated by the credit repair process, by the credit bureaus or by the collection agencies. There are plenty of federal laws on your side!
The United States Congress has enacted a set of laws that protect the consumer and provide that only verifiable, accurate information appear on a person’s credit report. This same law details the rules for how negative information must be investigated and treated should it be challenged.
I hope that you found the information in this article helpful and educational. I hope that you take this information and apply it to your how to repair my credit strategy to fix your credit score.

Fix Credit Score
There is no reason to be worried about this small temporary roadblock, because the easiest way to fix credit score is to get hold of a loan, and pay it off fast and on time. In general, installment loans are weighted more heavily than credit cards are. I do not know why, but that is the way it is. In other words, you will improve your credit score faster if you buy goods with an installment loan, rather than acquiring a credit card.
Another way to get a better credit history is to take $1000 and open a 6 month CD account at a bank or credit union. It is really up to you which one you choose. Now, get an installment loan for $1000, using that CD as collateral. Now, here is the magic. Take the $1000 loan, and open another 6 month CD account at another financial institution. Take another loan for the $1000 at the second institution. Now, you have to do this one more time.
Now what you have is 3 loans at 3 different banks or credit unions. Pay the minimum payment for 6 months. In the last month, go to each financial institution and cash out your CDs and pay the loans off. You now have a valid good credit history that will reflect in your credit score, and you did not have to go into long term debt to get it.
This is what I call an easy and sure way to fix credit score if your score is really low due to the fact you and your spouse do not have a credit history.

Repair bad credit history
To repair bad credit history, you must first have some knowledge as to how the credit system works. I know that when you have a bad credit rating based on negative information, you can not wait for it to be removed over time. But by law, a credit reporting agency can only report negative information for seven years and a bankruptcy for ten years. However, for any unpaid judgements, the reporting period goes back seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out.
To repair bad credit history, you must start to pay your bills on time and to contact the creditors that you cannot pay asap. By taking these steps, you can start to change your credit profile to the positive side, but that will take time also. You must be patient. There is no such thing as a quick credit fix.
If you do decide to use a credit repair company, then start by getting a free copy of your credit report. Then assemble all your credit card bills and write them down. This will give both you and your credit repair company a starting point. By law, credit repair companies must give you a brochure, Consumer Credit File Rights Under State and Federal Law when you sign a contract for their services. This contract must clearly specify your rights, obligations and fees. The contract must also clearly detail the descriptions of the services they will perform for you, how long it will take to see the results, and any guarantees they offer you.
Members of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling are non-profit organizations providing free and low cost services to consumers to repair bad credit history. They have a broad range of plans, covering most types of credit, even including home mortgages. Credit repair companies can also help if you are drowning in a mountain of debt. But before you sign a contract, please check out all the low cost and free options you can do yourself first.
So you can see, having a some good knowledge as to how the credit system works, can help you to repair bad credit historywithout the need to hire an expensive credit repair company.
Legal Free Credit Repair
Here are a few steps toward legal free credit repair.
To begin with, there are some essential tools of the trade that you will need before you can start fixing your credit report. First start by evaluating where you are at this point in time. Itemize where you stand in regards to assets and deficits. List every debt you have. Determine your current credit rating. You can do that by getting a hold of your credit report through a credit reporting bureau.
When you receive the credit report, check it for accuracy. If any errors are found they should be corrected. To start this process you will need to contact the credit bureau, being very clear about the errors made. Make a copy of the report and send this with the errors circled or highlighted. Send any supporting certification you may have. Be sure to keep plenty of copies of everything and you will certainly want to document each step that you take fixing your credit.
The credit bureau will review your request and the information before making a decision about making changes to your report. If changes are made they will send you a new credit report reflecting those new changes.
Now that you know where you stand with your credit, you also know which debts are going to be the most trouble to deal with. Work with those creditors to find a workable solution. Try to find suitable terms for paying off those debts. Anytime that a payment is going to be late it is best to contact the creditor before the overdue date. This can prevent harmful negative additions to your credit report.
If possible get a new credit card and start using it for purchases that you can pay off rather quickly. This will help to re-establish your credit quickly. Perhaps you could consider buying a stereo, TV or appliance on payments and pay it off early. Such practices build good credit in the shortest time possible.
The next step is probably the most important but also the most difficult. It is important to have a spending, money management plan. The key here, you not only need a plan, but you also need to put it to use.
One suggestion is to decide how much money you need monthly for bills, how much for groceries, how much for gasoline, etc., etc. Then divide your money into those amounts by placing it into jars or envelopes marked appropriately. When the money from each container is gone…no more spending can be done for that time period on that specific item.

Cheap Credit Repair
Cheap credit repair advertisements are every where, claiming to guarantee a quick fix on your credit report for a small fee of coarse. They make promises for a fee to clean up your credit history so that you can qualify for a new home, car, insurance, a job, or premium credit cards. Before you sign up with one of these companies, you need to know some real facts.
Here are the real facts about how to fix your credit score. The real truth of the matter is this. No one can legally remove information on a credit report. The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) allows you, the consumer, to request a probe of the information in your credit file that you can dispute as inaccurate or incomplete. However there is no charge to you. There are also other steps that you can do yourself, without paying a cheap credit repair company, such as:
- You are permitted a free credit report if a company denies you credit, insurance, or employment (if credit is a part of the employment). You must request a report within 60 days of this denial. The notice will give you the name of the consumer reporting agency that provided this credit report. You can challenge the information that this denial is based upon. Under FCRA, both the consumer reporting agency and the information provider are responsible for correcting inaccurate or any incomplete information in that report.
- You can also put in writing what information you believe to be inaccurate. Include copies of any certification that supports your claim. Be sure to send this letter to the credit reporting agency, and send it certified mail. This way, you can prove it was mailed and signed for at their end.
- You will get a response within 30 to 45 days. During their probe, they must forward all your documents to the merchant or vendor that provided the awful credit information and report back to the credit bureau. If they find that this information is incorrect, they must notify all three reporting agencies of their findings. This includes Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.
- When the probe is concluded by the credit bureau, you must receive a copy of the results in writing and a copy of the dispute if it is changed. If the disputed item is changed, the credit reporting agency cannot put the disputed information back into your credit file unless it is verified as accurate by the merchant or vendor.
- The credit reporting agency must also send notices of a correction to anyone who received your credit report in the past six months. You can also have a corrected copy sent to employers that did not hire you based on your bad credit report.
Even though cheap credit repair advertisements are every where, claiming to guarantee a quick fix on your credit report for a small fee, you really do not need their services. Because what they can do for you for a small fee, you can do for yourself for FREE. Now that is cheap credit repair.
